Custom resized LCD panel — dimensional verification, Tannas Display Solutions

// Dimensional verification — resized panel to specification

// Process & Feasibility

Can any LCD panel be resized to a custom dimension?

Most commercial TFT LCD panels are candidates for resizing. Engineering reviews your target active area against available donor panels and confirms feasibility — typically within one business day.

How does LCD resizing work?

A donor LCD cell is physically cut to the target dimension and resealed, producing a fully functional TFT display at the exact active area your system requires. The LCD resizing process was pioneered by Lawrence E. Tannas Jr. Tannas Display Solutions carries that technical foundation forward through direct family lineage and hands-on expertise — knowledge that does not transfer through a datasheet.

What sizes and formats are possible?

Square, rectangular, and custom aspect ratios at nearly any active area — including ATI instrument formats (2ATI through 6ATI) and non-standard geometries that no catalog panel matches.

What information do I need to submit a request?

At minimum: your required active area in millimeters, horizontal and vertical. Quantity, program application, outer envelope constraints, and any known donor or original part number all help engineering respond faster.

// Ordering & Lead Time

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No. Tannas Display Solutions has no minimum order quantity. We support programs requiring a single first-article unit through full production quantities.

What is the typical lead time?

Catalog formats typically run 6–8 weeks ARO. Program-specific configurations are quoted with their own schedule during the feasibility review.

How does the quote process work?

Submit your dimensions through the contact form. Engineering reviews feasibility and responds within 1 business day — no commitment required at that stage.

// EOL & Obsolescence Replacement

Can you replace a discontinued or obsolete display?

Yes. EOL and obsolescence replacement is one of our most common programs. We resize a donor panel to match your original dimensions — no enclosure redesign, the physical interface is unchanged.

What if I only have the original part number?

Submit the part number with your request. Engineering identifies the original dimensions and assesses a replacement at the exact active area your system was built around.

// Technical Options

Do you supply resized cells only, or complete modules?

Both. We deliver cell-only resized panels or complete display modules — backlight, driver electronics, housing, and connectors assembled and tested.

Are NVIS-compatible configurations available?

Yes. NVIS-compatible configurations are available for cockpit and night-vision-environment programs.

What interfaces and electronics are supported?

LED backlight integration, timing controller and driver electronics, and common display interfaces including LVDS and eDP, with controller selection matched to your source signal.

// Documentation & Compliance

Is a Certificate of Conformance provided?

Yes. A Certificate of Conformance is included with every shipment.

Is first-article inspection documentation available?

Yes. First-article inspection reports and exhaustive test documentation are available for qualifying programs, including lot traceability and production configuration control.

What kind of facility does the work happen in?

Resizing is performed in an ISO Class 100 compliant clean space in Santa Cruz, California, with US manufacturing available for programs that require it — country of origin documented per order.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, subject to export compliance. International requirements are screened under U.S. export regulations before quoting.

// Company & Heritage

Who invented the LCD resizing process?

The LCD resizing process was pioneered by Lawrence E. Tannas Jr. Tannas Display Solutions carries that technical foundation forward through direct family lineage and hands-on expertise — knowledge that does not transfer through a datasheet.

Is Tannas Display Solutions related to Tannas Electronic Displays?

Yes. Tannas Electronic Displays was an earlier iteration of this company's work. Tannas Display Solutions, founded in 2024, carries that resizing expertise forward — customers holding displays from Tannas Electronic Displays programs can contact us for replacements and support.
