An engineering company specializing in custom LCD resizing — producing display panels at dimensions that standard manufacturers do not offer, for programs where the enclosure determines the display.
// Who We Are
The LCD resizing process was invented by Lawrence E. Tannas Jr. Tannas Display Solutions carries that work forward — built by his family, on his process, with his catalog. The process itself: physically modifying the glass substrate, optical stack, and flex ribbon of a commercial LCD cell to produce a custom active area without fabricating new glass. That capability is the foundation of everything in our catalog.
When your program requires a non-standard display, you should be speaking with engineers who build them. Our team works directly with every program — from feasibility through shipment — with no intermediary layer between your requirements and the people responsible for meeting them.
Our catalog of 64+ formats represents dimensions that have been produced and qualified in prior programs. Our custom capability extends well beyond the catalog. If you have an active area requirement and a timeline, a feasibility review costs nothing and typically takes one business day.
// The ATI Format
Aircraft cockpits were designed around round and square electromechanical instruments. When programs began transitioning to LCD replacements, the problem was straightforward: LCD manufacturers produce rectangular panels. They always have, and they have no commercial reason to change.
The Air Transport Instrument format catalog addresses this directly. By resizing LCD cells to square active areas — 2ATI through 6ATI — retrofit programs can replace aging instruments with current display technology without modifying the instrument bay, the bezel, or the airframe. The display fits the aircraft, not the other way around.
These programs have long service lives. Fleets instrumented decades ago will need display replacements for decades more. The ATI catalog is not a niche product — it is an ongoing supply chain requirement for programs that cannot afford redesign.
